Curiosity meets creation

Welcome to a space where wonder is the medium! My creative endeavors are driven entirely by whatever curiosity happened to light up my mind that day. I often work with vastly different materials, whether it be coding creations, digital designs, tinkering with metals and glass, or classic ol' sketches. I create to learn, explore, and share the moments when curiosity and creativity collide.  Each piece I work on represents a new little experiment in my own exploration of different ideas and materials.

One idea that I am particularly fond of is where broken pieces come together to make something beautiful and new. Thus much of my personal work will feature upcycled materials or designs that are made of fragmented elements.

In addition to my personal work, I spend a lot of time volunteering and working in spaces that lend to my learning about materials, such as the Sciencenter children's museum or in my work with rare antique books. Wherever I go, I'm just happy to learn and create in spaces where I am free to tinker and explore!

Personal Works

This display needs some updating! But in the meantime, here is a showcase of recent personal projects that I have been up to. This section features a small selection of digital designs (especially those focused on the Lyra as it's theme), pastel sketches, small broken glass and metal sculptures, as well as 3D digital modeling.

Sciencenter Exhibits

Much of what I learn about materials and formal shop techniques is thanks to the mentorship that I receive as an exhibits volunteer at the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY. Here I have learned about exhibits fabrication, environmental design, and communicating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math concepts through hands-on play. While I most enjoy spending time designing light sensory exhibits, you will often find me in the shop either cutting, sanding, or painting!

Book Collecting

Did you know that there is an art to books and book binding?! I've recently taken up a big interest in learning more about antique books, their beautiful illustrations, and the art of book binding. I've started my own foreign poetry book collection, and I sell antique books to support this collection. Check out the books that I've got for sale on Biblio!
